HEARTS

They pound. They melt. They swell. They burst. They break. They bleed. They keep your breath coming while simultaneously also taking it away. Here’s to hearts. Those blossoming. Those fading. Those coming back to life. xo   __ See my bleeding hearts of yesteryear: 2012 2011 2010   __ Check out my stop-the-bleeding song that’s playing [...]

WRITING IT DOWN

Somewhere back toward the beginning of this blogging journey, I typed up a post about the specific kind of journal (and pen) that I was loving most at the time. Three years and six journals later, that opinion hasn’t changed. Although a lot of other things have. Particularly, the things filling those journals. Thank God. [...]

BY THE DOZENS

If I began to tell you all the things that the number twelve means to me, and all the crazy, crazy, crazy stories I have around this number colliding with my life in just plain flat-out insane and lightning-bolt-from-heaven ways (CRAZY, I tell you), it would quickly turn into a book. FALLING

It was not an ordinary day. But I'm thinking it's probably all pretty normal for a season of transition. And I happen to know that shaky places like this can lead to stronger ones. Seriously, like boot camp.

ALL A-FLUTTER

For the past three days, every time I come in or out of R-house, I have had a friend waiting for me at the front door. This evening I stood on my front step and watched – in awe – as my butterfly launched into a Dancing with the Stars-worthy performance – fluttering over, around, [...]

DAY ONE: RHINO REMOVAL

Is it weird to have your therapist tell you that you’re exhibiting signs of depression and to feel… relieved? Maybe. Or maybe it’s just truly a relief to hear that some of those frustrating things that have been creeping in lately - the tiredness the foggy brain the trudging-through-mud feeling the diminished interest in doing [...]
